"This was my second time coming to the Bhakti Yoga Ashram. I was there once in Nov 2023 as a volunteer in the kitchen, garden and cleaning rooms and bathrooms during a yoga teacher training with more than 20 students and 5 volunteers in addition to the family staying on the grounds. I can back this past April to do my own 200 hour vinyasa teacher training where there were only 3 students including myself and 1-3 volunteers. The school was set up between Syam and her husband Chaitanya (the directors of the school) alternating between teaching us Asanas, Ayurvedic diet, alignment, and other aspects of the Yogic path. It was a very enriching and challenging course. We practiced teaching poses amongst students and had plenty of time for discussion. Schedules were pretty consistent starting the day around 7 with pranayama breathing, meditation, kirtan, and philosophy. We practiced Asanas (postures) during the day, and would practice a yoga flow instructed by one of the instructors daily before lunch. There was lots of instructor led alignments offered. Syam and Chaitanya have a combined accumulation of over 40 years of yoga experience between the two of them, in addition to Ayurveda, Thai massage, human design and Vedic astrology; to name a few. They hold a wealth of knowledge and are an exceptional pair to learn from. I could not recommend this school enough. If the instructors aren’t enough to make you want to come, the Ayurvedic diet, the sacredness of this Sacred Valley, and the layout of the incredible ashram, with lush gardens, two alpacas, 2 horses, a few cats and plenty of places to meditate and practice your yoga will help make your decision. If you are considering coming to the Sacred Valley this is the school to choose."
