"A fantastic stay at El Albergue! We actually initially visited a few days before check in, when going to MP as we were keen on the coffee experience. Erik and his colleague helped book us on the experience today which was fantastic today with Bruno and Judith who went through the process of all coffee roasting and made us a delicious filter coffee as well. I learnt so much! The breakfast is delicious here as most comes from their farm. The only thing I would ask is if meat is possibly kept separate container/lids to veggies where possible (but this is common in South America. We had some eggs made to order. I didn't get the lady's name who looked after us but she was very helpful , so thank you! Rooms are very cool especially overlooking the trains and being part of the station. It can be a little loud when the come but they didn't run at night. The rooms are a little older fashion (for the one we stayed in) but possibly this is due to regulations being part of the station itself. Location is fantastic being in the station Highly recommend people who stay here utilise one of the experiences (theres a Pachamanca experience which looks very cool) Thanks all for the lovely stay it is very unique"

"O lugar para se hospedar em Ollantaytambo. Ambientes aconchegantes, confortáveis, com decoração elegante e atendimento diferenciado. As refeições sao saborosas e há atrativos que tornam o lugar especial, como sua horta orgânica e a escola para crianças. A passagem para a trilha até as ruínas é excelente, nao deixem de utilizá-la. Recomendo!"

"This place was hands down my favorite that we stayed at in Peru. The feel of the it was so unique (rustic and authentic), and everything from the food, the service, to the location was just awesome. It's right by the train station, so if you're going to Machu Picchu, it's very convenient to just walk out the door and go, but it's so quiet and you really don't hear the trains when you're inside your room. The grounds themselves are vast, so you can walk around see the farm, distillery, etc and forget you're right near a busy town and train station. The food at the restaurant and the coffee at the cafe were phenomenal, I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks for a great stay!"

"Hotel is next to the railroad. So for sleep and relaxing skip this place. Otherwise try their restaurants and take a walk back to the city using the trail in the back. It's beautiful and breathtaking"

"My husband and I stayed at El Albergue Ollantaytambo for three nights in a Superior Balcony room, and unfortunately, it did not live up to the expectations. While the property has a certain aesthetic, the actual guest experience was frustrating especially for the high price based on local standards. The hotel is located inside the train station. After getting to the end of the street, guests must either go through the train station entrance gate or exit gate. Either way, tell the train station staff that El Albergue is your hotel and they will let you through. Significant Infrastructure Issue: The buildings are old, and the plumbing is clearly outdated. During one shower, the water pressure completely vanished while I was covered in shampoo and soap. It slowed to a tiny drip, leaving me stranded and shivering for about a minute before enough pressure returned for me to rinse off. It felt like an old house where you can’t run two taps at once, maybe someone else happened to start showering at the same time—completely unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. Privacy vs. View: We stayed in a two-story building with four units; our room was the first one upstairs. While there is a nice view outside, you can’t actually enjoy it if you want any privacy. Because of the building's layout, guests in the adjacent room look directly into your room every time they walk by. To keep people from seeing in, you have to keep the shutters closed, which leaves the room dark and completely cuts off the view—the only "good" thing about the room. Not all rooms have this problem but ours did. Power Outage: One morning when we went to breakfast, the electricity was out in the dining room. While there was enough natural light to see, it took over 30 minutes for staff to get the power back on after we got there and no idea how long it had been out while guests tried to eat. Noise: Being located right at the train station, the noise can be a factor. Our room wasn't too bad. We were only woken up once by the train at night. The Room: The room was basic. While spacious, the room lacks the comfort and modern amenities/reliability you expect at this price point. There were a lot of bugs both inside/outside the room which is probably due to being in a more rural area and the month we were there."

"Location is a bit far from center of town, but that may be a good thing (just a bit uphill going in). Super cute and rustic property. Incredibly accommodating staff, truly treat you like guests. Would def stay here again!"
