"We absolutely loved our stay at Quechua hotel in Cusco. It was clean, comfortable, and right at the entrance of the historic centre. Alex and Anderson at the reception desk were so friendly, helpful and professional. Thanks for a great stay!!"

"Outdated yet still charging premium prices. 20 years ago it may have been a grand hotel but now it is very tired and rooms are in massive need of a refurb. Bathroom actually dangerous and you have to bolt yourself into the shower cubicle as it no longer stays together. Very sharp metal which you could easily cut yourself on. The staff were friendly upon check in but after that they were very dismissive of any queries I had and didn’t realise I could understand pigeon Spanish and were very rude. I have never left a review before but felt very strongly that I needed to warn people that this is definitely not the place to book when staying in Cusco- so many other lovely places and same price range. Woken up at 5am by goodness knows what, so much noise of cleaners and bins being moved, and we were supposedly in a ‘quiet room’! Every other accommodation we have stayed at in Peru supplied a couple bottles of water for arrival but nothing at all here. Breakfast was pretty awful too and seemed like yesterday’s. Big thumbs down from me."

"Extremely disappointing stay after an otherwise lovely few days in Peru. Really let the place down. The rude staff were insulting us in Spanish because they didn’t think we spoke the language. Water was brown upon turning the tap (after we had to find the stop cock that was off in the wall!), when we complained that it was brown and cold, we were huffed at and told they would take a look at the tank. After 10-15 minutes the water stopped being brown and turned from cold to luke warm, still not hot. WiFi was incredibly slow, not even enough to send a WhatsApp to a fellow traveller in the same hotel. When we raised this issue, we were again met with rudeness and muttered insults in Spanish. They said it was working fine, but we ran an internet speed test and it came out at 0.00. In other words, it was not working fine. I could write an essay on the issues with the room itself, but essentially it’s old, outdated and broken, including doors that don’t fit the frames and squeaky floors. This was the Superior room, I dread to think what the regular ones would be like! We’re woken up around 6:30am to wheelie bins being dragged past the room (4th floor), and the patio being jet washed. Breakfast was a joke, last nights leftovers from the restaurant in the hotel (rice, roast potatoes, mixed vegetables and stale bread). Please choose any other hotel in Cusco, there are lots of other ones we stayed at, but unfortunately they were fully booked for this last night. Long review but had to be in order to fully describe the inadequacy and disappointment of this sorry excuse for a hotel."

"Booked superior suite but hot tub had cold water and water came out brown. Went down to reception to see if this could be fixed but got insulted in Spanish behind our backs as they thought we could not speak the language. WiFi not enough to check emails. Used wheelie bins between 6am and 7am right past our room on the balcony making a complete racket and waking everyone up. Staff were very rude and hotel outdated, such a shame when this was our final nights stay in Peru and everyone else had been so lovely."

"I was pleasantly surprised when I was given a master room with a jacuzzi. Every day, the staff cleaned my room and provided fresh towels and toilet paper. Antony was very cheerful and helpful, greeting me every time we saw each other. Also, I stayed here last year for one night, and Jesus—who I believe is the manager—went above and beyond to help me with an issue. That experience is why I decided to stay at this hotel again. Finally, the buffet is exceptional."
