"Most incredible place to stay in the sacred valley! We chose to stay there to acclimate for the altitude before going to Machu Picchu and then to Cusco. We stayed 3 amazing nights there! Enjoyed what hotel was offered: great restaurants, spa with amazing massages, swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and simply beautiful ambiance! Hotel also has great shops and incredible surroundings for walking and enjoying the nature, beautiful flowers, river, mountains and baby alpacas on the premises. There is a town of Urubamba right next to the hotel. We went to walk around, visited the local shops and markets. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly! They gave us all recommendations and support we needed. Highly recommend to stay here! You’ll be amazed! So grateful!"

"We had a four-day weekend at this hotel in the Valley of the Sacred Valley in Urubamba. It was my first time there, and we had no specific plans except for a peaceful getaway from the city. The property itself is beautiful and spacious, but the hotel doesn’t do a great job of showcasing it. The service was great, with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were large and clean, although a bit dusty. The worst part of our stay was the first evening when they were irrigating the garden, and the smell was awful. We had to close the doors leading to the terrace and turn up the air conditioning to try to get rid of the sewage-like smell. The food was honestly quite disappointing. We had breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and none of them were five-star quality. Breakfast was probably the most disappointing, with runny eggs, tasteless fruits, watery coffee, and dry bread. Not everything was bad, but it was overall a letdown. Lunch at the bar was okay, and only ate there twice because I was working and didn’t have time to go out. I had the same thing on Thursday and Friday: sushi and a glass of chicha morada. The sushi was okay, but not authentic. The rice was falling apart, and the chicha morada wasn’t homemade tasting. Dinner at the restaurant was another letdown. I ordered ají de gallina, which was thick, pasty, and not unauthentic. The lomo saltado was decent, and the potatoes were the highlight. The squash ravioli was the worst of all, with a tasty filling but uncooked pasta. My sister got sick that evening after eating it. The braised meat was okay in texture, but it was oily and not so tasty. On our last day, we tried their outdoor bar like restaurant, and it was another disappointing experience. The pizza was okay, but it was like a flatbread with some cheese. The burger and chicken sandwich were okay. The Andean potatoes were good. It wasn’t the worst we had, but it wasn’t at the level we expected. The property itself was peaceful and pleasing, with empty areas that nobody goes to. There’s also a lovely huerto and eating area with brick oven. they also have a private train station that takes you to Machu Picchu. the highlight of the trip was the two alpacas, but it was saddening to see them tied up and unable to roam freely. It felt like a cruel situation. Would I come back? Well, there aren’t many options nearby, so it might be convenient, but I wouldn’t eat there. I’d need to research other places to eat. When I spoke to locals, they mentioned that the food used to be great and that locals would frequent the restaurant, but that hasn’t been the case recently."
