"What we experienced on the Inka Trail with Alpaka Expedition was so much more than a hike to Machu Picchu. It was a reminder of what really matters in life: community, hospitality, humility, beauty, and shared humanity. The porters, led by Cesar, were incredible. They gave us the gift of carrying our weight…not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. Because of them, we were able to breathe. To truly breathe on the sacred mountain that is their home. They created space for us to slow down, to put aside the noise and busyness of our lives, and to meditate on what is truly important. Their strength, kindness, work ethic, and joy were deeply moving. Watching them navigate the mountains with grace and dignity was one of the most humbling experiences of my life. Cesar led the team with quiet excellence, compassion, and pride. Chef Alfredo pulled out all the stops. Every single meal felt impossible given where we were…fresh, beautiful, nourishing, and made with incredible care. He not only took care of all of our allergies and dietary needs flawlessly, he created moments of joy around the table every day. Each meal felt like both a sunrise and a celebration. But beyond the food, he gave us something even more meaningful: the gift of the table. A place where strangers became friends, where stories were shared, laughter echoed through the campsites, and memories were created that we will carry forever. Jimmy and Carlos led the entire experience with extraordinary kindness, patience, wisdom, and generosity. They set the tone from the very beginning. Every detail was handled with care, every challenge met with calm encouragement, and every person made to feel seen and valued. They didn’t just guide us through the mountains…they helped create one of the most meaningful adventures I have ever had. Their love for the land, the history, and their people was contagious and inspiring. And in the end, what this team gave us was something far more valuable than reaching Machu Picchu. They gave us the gift of family. For four days and three nights, we laughed together, struggled together, ate together, learned together, and became something more than a tour group. We became a community. This was truly one of the greatest experiences of my life, and I cannot recommend this team highly enough. 5 stars for Cesar and the incredible porters. 5 stars for Chef Alfredo. 5 stars for Jimmy and Carlos. 5 stars for the entire experience from beginning to end. I would highly, wholeheartedly recommend this journey to anyone considering the Inka Trail."

"Just finished up my 4d/3n trek to Machu Picchu with Alpine Expedition and must say that AE and Machu Picchu were magnificent!!! Jhymy was the perfect guide as well as assistant guide Carlos. They were very informative. Ask for them if possible. Alfredo the chef was totally amazing with his creations and was very accommodating to everyone’s food needs. Ceaser was head of the porters and took great care of our gear and addressing any issues. Long story short Alpaca Expeditions is LOCALLY OWNED AND GIVES BACK TO THE COMMUNITY SO PLEASE CHECH THEM OUT."

"Best hiking expedition experience ever! Starting with our amazing guide Jimmy, who patiently explained everything from pre-hike orientation to every single day. Jimmy was accompanied by Carlos, both of them guided and guarded like our own family would at every step of the way. And food was delicious every meal and we celebrated two birthdays in our group and chef, Alfredo and team baked a delicious cake in the middle of nowhere. They were incredible at every meal and mindful of our dietary restriction. Last but never the least the porter team lead by Cesar who carried our baggage while we barely carried ourself through the 4 day hike. We are incredible grateful to this team. "We did the 4 day, 3 night Inka trail. Our guide Jimmy was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history and detailed information about the length of the walks. Carlos and Jimmy were great at setting the pace for the group that worked for everyone. Cesar did an excellent job with the porters. It was great to turn up and have our tents sent up. Alfredo's food was amazing. The aubergine shaped as a condor was a highlight. He went above and beyond to manage all dietary requirements and to keep the food varied."
