"Completing the 5-day Salkantay Trek with Salkantay Trekking was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. Every single day was unforgettable — from the snow-capped mountains and the incredible Salkantay Pass to the jungle landscapes and finally arriving at Machu Picchu. The entire trip was extremely well organized, with amazing food, beautiful accommodations, and breathtaking scenery at every step. Many reviews mention how seamless, beautiful, and life-changing this trek is, and I can completely understand why now. A special thank you to our guide Dorgan, who was absolutely wonderful throughout the whole journey. He was incredibly patient, kind, knowledgeable, and supportive — especially even when dealing with some challenging clients in the group. He always kept the energy positive, made everyone feel safe and motivated, and shared so much about the local culture, history, and nature along the way. You could really tell how much he cared about giving everyone the best possible experience. The trek itself is challenging, but the reward is beyond worth it. The landscapes constantly change, the atmosphere within the group becomes so special, and reaching Machu Picchu after days of hiking makes the experience even more emotional and unforgettable. I would 100% recommend this adventure to anyone visiting Peru."

"Thanks to Uriel for such an incredible hiking experience, definitely a highlight of our South America travels. As a guide, Uriel was very knowledgeable, positive, enthusiastic, and managed our group well. He was also clear about what each day would entail and was just a lovely person! Our chefs (Jhojan and his dad) were incredible too, they prepared delicious and varied meals each day and catered well to dietry requirements. It was some of the best food we've eaten in Peru. The accommodation was very cool too - Mountain Sky View on day two was a real luxury after a tough day of hiking. Salkantay Trekking is great as they organise people into smaller, well matched groups and because of the attention to detail e.g. giving everyone hot water bottles on the first night as it was chilly. I would highly recommended to anybody considering the Salkantay Trek!"

Marco is an exceptional guide – deeply knowledgeable, calm, funny, and incredibly attentive to everyone’s needs. His passion for the mountains, the culture, and the history added so much depth to the journey. The organization of the entire trek was excellent. Everything ran smoothly, from transportation to camp setup. The equipment was high‑quality: sturdy tents, warm sleeping gear, comfortable mats, and reliable trekking poles. You can feel that the company invests in good materials to make the experience safe and enjoyable. A special highlight was the cook. The meals were far beyond what you would expect on a remote trek like this. Every dish was fresh, nourishing, and full of flavor. The ingredients were clearly chosen with care – lots of vegetables, fresh fruit, warm soups, and creative meals that kept us energized for long days of hiking. It felt like eating in a mountain restaurant rather than a campsite. The mules and muleteers were also handled with great respect and professionalism. The animals were well cared for, well equipped, and treated gently. It gave me a lot of peace of mind to see how responsibly the team works with them. And of course, the landscape is simply breathtaking: dramatic canyons, cloud forests, endless mountain ridges, and finally the quiet, powerful presence of the Choquequirao ruins. Reaching this place almost alone, without crowds, felt magical. This trek was one of the most meaningful experiences of my entire trip. I would choose Marco and the Salkantay Trekking team again without hesitation. Truly unforgettable."

"I did this trek with my cousin and we had a great time. The trek was beautiful, our guide Carlo's was well prepared and a good leader, and the camp sites were comfortable. There was so much good food. The company really seemed to consider our safety as well. I don't know much about horses but it seemed like the company also took steps to make sure the pack horses were well treated. My only complaint was the amount of times we were told we'd have hot showers and the water was cold. It didn't reliably work for everyone in two of our camps, and then on our final night the entire hotel lacked hot water! Carlo's had to talk to the front desk and by the time the hot water came it was bedtime, so we all had to have ice cold showers. Despite this I would completely recommend the company."
