"My family and I took this tour in Dec 2024 because we wanted to experience adventure activities in Peru, such as trout fishing in Chaullacocha Lagoon, Rainbow Mountain, and the 2-day short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. It was truly worth it, as everything was well-organized from the first day we arrived in Lima until the last day of our departure. Our tours in Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, the Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain, and the full-day fishing experience were truly incredible. They took care of organizing the entire trip, including entrance fees to the Inca Trail, train tickets, and hotel reservations. The most fun part was the fishing, where we were able to catch some trout and then release them. We also got to visit a local family who apparently take care of and protect the lagoon, and we had a fantastic time. We are very happy to have used the services of this company as it far exceeded our expectations and we will not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who wants to have a pleasant and fun time in Peru"

"We've been planning this trip for many years. We finally returned home after spending more than two weeks in Peru. Thanks to the excellent organization and care provided by Ruben and his team, everything was well planned and met all our expectations. Our trip basically focused on the most interesting and notable places in Peru, such as Lima "Colonial & Modern," the 4-Day Amazon, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, the 2-Day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, Puno, and the Colca Canyon. Throughout this trip, we were treated exceptionally well by extremely professional guides who were very knowledgeable about each region. Our transportation was slightly new and very spacious, and we were very friendly drivers. We loved the meals and were also able to interact with local people in the Amaru community in Pisac. They also took care of booking our hotels from start to finish, and everything was exactly as we expected, with very safe locations. This was our first time using a travel agency, and we were right. South Adventure Peru was truly incredible. Everything was well organized and planned from our arrival in Peru until our return. We would be more than happy to recommend it to anyone who wants to travel to Peru."

"This was our first trip using a tour company and it did not disappoint. Ruben and Tatyana coordinated our hotels, destinations, personal tour guides, transportation, tickets and several restaurants for our 8 day stay in Peru. We simply told them a little about the 5 people in our group (age, activity level, type of travel experience we wanted) and how many days we would be there and they created an itinerary perfect for us. From the time we landed in Peru until we left we followed their lead and were able relax and just enjoy! Our guides (Diana in Lima and Rosalio in Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu) along with our driver Juan were local and made all the difference! They were all very knowledgeable and brought so much more to our experience than we could have gotten without them. Just as importantly, they were lovely people and we genuinely enjoyed getting to know each of them! In addition to common sites to see, we were able to visit a small local community where they served us lunch and even invited us to wedding taking place in the community that day. We used South Adventure Peru Tours because someone else we knew had recommended them and we could not have been more pleased with our experience! Using South Adventure Peru Tours provided a more immersive experience and we like that it benefits the warm and generous people of Peru!"

"Amazing two-week trip in Peru and Bolivia Three of my friends and I decided to travel for two weeks in Peru and Bolivia with South Adventure Peru Tours, a completely local agency. Before making our decision, we investigated several agencies, and the only one we trusted was this company managed by Ruben and Tatiana. As soon as I sent a message, they immediately contacted us and sent us a complete and detailed itinerary that included tours in Lima, Paracas, Ica with sandboarding. Then we flew to Cusco, where we did the private city tour, the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain, Humantay Lake, Lake Titicaca in Puno, and a 4-day tour to Bolivia, from where we flew directly to Lima and then returned home. The entire trip was well organized and planned, from our arrival in Lima to our final departure. They arranged all the private tours, allowing us the most time possible at each location and never feeling rushed. Our guides were knowledgeable about each region and spoke extensively about the Inca culture. We felt very safe and were very patient with us. Ruben and Tatiana were very efficient and attentive to all our needs. They even arranged for our hotels in each location, all with convenient locations. The entire organization exceeded our expectations, with knowledgeable guides, attentive staff, and excellent communication throughout the entire trip. During the entire trip what we loved the most was the Inca Trail and the Machu Picchu sanctuary, it really is something magical with a spectacular view, the rest of the hikes like Rainbow Mountain and Humantay Lake were also very special although a little challenging but we were able to complete with the uphill hike, but all in all they were worth doing. Our guide Victor Hugo was incredible and extremely kind, he was our support on every tour, the places we saw throughout Cusco, Sacred Valley, Moray were truly sensational, we also got to feed some animals in each farm we visited as well as llamas and alpacas. We loved the Peruvian food, it was truly delicious and we plan to return to Peru again and without a doubt, we will get in touch with Ruben and Tatiana. We are very delighted to have hired the services of a purely Peruvian company that has a close relationship with the local people. Thank you very much for making a dream come true, we will be back soon !!"

"Edit included: After arriving home, Ruben reached out requesting a review which I was happy to do. But as you can imagine, getting sorted back at home and work after a holiday is hectic. I fully understand the value of reviews and referrals to small businesses; however, the amount of follow-up and reminders I received was honestly excessive. I was asked to post on multiple social media platforms and I tagged them on my IG post and posted here on Google and then TripAdvisor. When my TA post didn't show up (was in Pending Status) I received numerous requests to re-post it. Not to mention they reached out directly to TA to inquire about my review. This is too much IMO (within the span of 2 weeks, 6 separate outreaches to post including an ask for my husband to make his own separate postings) . For me, if a client is pleased with a service, it is their choice to post/not to post and shouldn't be tracked and followed-up to such degree. My review of their services is still accurate but be aware that this post-holiday experience may also follow. Original Post: As the travel planner in our family, I had already planned most of our itinerary, but knew we wanted a local guide to give us the context, culture and flair needed to fully appreciate all that we would see during our adventure in Peru. I’m so glad we found Ruben and Tatiana of South Adventure Peru Tours! From the first message to our farewell hug at the airport, Ruben and Tatiana were warm, responsive, and a true pleasure to work with. Even though we didn’t need a full-service offering, they never made us feel like “small” clients. They were generous with their advice and genuinely wanted us to make the most of our time in Peru—even for parts of our itinerary they weren’t directly managing. Ruben would check-in with us regularly to see how we adjusted to the altitude, how we were enjoying the sites and journey along the way. They helped coordinate the Sacred Valley portion of our trip, including Pisac, Cusco, Ollantaytambo, and Machu Picchu. Our guide for most of the journey was Ernesto, and our driver was Leo—both were fantastic. Leo navigated the mountain roads with ease and efficiency, and we always felt safe with him behind the wheel. Our arrival flights were delayed, but the team was incredibly flexible. We were never rushed and had time to see everything that piqued our interest. Ernesto has a personal connection with the Quechua culture and brought the sites to life through his stories, weaving in historical insight and answering our many questions. He was attentive to our young daughter, keeping her engaged and making sure she felt included. He also made himself our family photographer and gave our usual selfie arms a rest! At Machu Picchu, Jorge was our guide and gave us a more academic perspective and we left in awe of the architectural and innovative genius of the people who built these massive structures up in the mountains. If you're in search of a thoughtful, kind, responsive, and deeply knowledgeable team, consider this agency. Ruben, Tatiana, Ernesto, and Leo made our time in Peru incredibly special and we thank you for your care and hospitality!"

"6 Stars Travel Agent in Peru Ruben and his team at South Adventure Peru Tours were fantastic! Their service exceeded our expectations. We were very happy with our trip! "The professional service provided by Ruben and his team allowed us to focus on enjoying the amazing sights without worrying about logistics." Thanks to their meticulous planning, we had one of the best vacations of our lives. I would recommend them to anyone considering a trip to Peru. We left in early April 2025 for Lima, Cuzco, Machu Picchu, Humantay Lake, Rainbow Mountain and Huacachina. We thought about arranging our own trip, but we didn't speak Spanish, so we found a professional travel agency like South Adventure Peru Tours. We were somewhat skeptical about selecting a travel agent from the Internet, but the many good reviews on multiple sites led us to fill in the contact sheet for details. From our first contact by WhatsApp as early as January 2024 (15 months in advance), I was impressed with the level of detail that Ruben provided. We needed a customized itinerary since we would be traveling from Far East Asia. Ruben gave me all the information I needed to interleave our plans with their packages. I have plenty of questions as and when Ruben answered all my questions, provided me with the options available, and why, in some cases, he recommended one service over another to maximize our time in Peru without minus-ing the experiences. We are grateful to have Ruben & teams. They are gems!"

"My family and I had been planning this trip for a long time, and Peru was on our bucket list. Thanks to this company's excellent organization, everything was well planned with very flexible schedules, extremely passionate guides, very knowledgeable about Inca history, and fluent in English. From the moment we contacted them, Ruben responded immediately with a well-developed itinerary that included two days in Lima, A 2-Day tour to Paracas, Nazca, and Ica sandboarding, a bus to Arequipa, A 2Day Colca Canyon tour, and Lake Titicaca. We met Ruben and Tatiana, who were waiting to take us to Cusco in a spacious vehicle, and we made several stops along the way. In Cusco we were dropped off at our hotel from where we left for the Sacred Valley the next day. We stayed in a beautiful hotel in Yucay. We also took a tour to the Amaru community (a community project). It was nice to share their traditions and customs, and we had a delicious lunch with the local people. We went to Maras Moray and Salineras, a unique and incredible experience. We took the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu from km 104. We loved the train ride from Ollantaytambo, and we enjoyed the very nutritious box-lunch based on quinoa. We spent the night at a comfortable hotel in Aguas Calientes. The next day we had the best opportunity to explore MachuPicchu since our guide took us early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Then we climbed to Huayna Picchu from where we took the best photos and enjoyed the stunning scenery and the cloud forest. In Cusco, we ended up doing the daily tours such as walking tours to Qoricancha, Sacsayhuamán, San Blas neighborhood, San Pedro Market, and an alpaca farm at Waillarccha lagoon. We also did the Rainbow MT, and then flew to the Rainforest in Puerto Maldonado where we immersed in the wildlife with excellent and native guide, good meals and top-notch service. Overall this trip was extremely well-organized from the beginning to end, nice hotels with top category, very helpful staff, we really loved the Peruvian meals especially the ceviche and food at Amaru Community. We highly recommend this Peruvian tour company, and don't hesitate to talk to Ruben and Tatiana, they are so kind and very helpful"

"South Adventure Peru was absolutely THE best company to travel with - both incredibly professional as well as so personal, attentive, and caring. It is a family owned business, run by the founders Ruben and his wife Tatiana, who are so good at their craft, so organized, really love showing Peru to visitors, and take pride in providing the best care and service to all their customers. Our group had 6 people with ages ranging from 8 years old to 73 years old so one of the challenges was trying to find a tour company with an itinerary that could accommodate all our various needs. From the beginning, Ruben was the MOST responsive out of any of the tour companies we reached out to, answering all our questions He even helped work out the plans so that my husband and I who can be more active, do the Huayna Picchu hike in the morning, and then meet up with the rest of the family to do the macchu picchu main tour all together. Ruben was able to design an excellent 6-day tour. We did a city tour of Lima. We got to travel through the amazing sacred valley, stopping by a fun alpaca farm, and a native market place. Got to see Pisac Ruins and the huge staircase like fields cut into the sides of the mountain. The Inca site of Moray was so unique with its amphitheater like terracing. We also went to the village of Maras and saw the salt pans. We also visited Ollantaytambo and walked up to the Temple of the Sun. We went on a beautiful, sight-seeing train ride with huge windows to macchu picchu and visited the thermal baths there. And then of course macchi pichu was worth all the hype - truly awe inspiring. Also got to see the city of Cusco and the ruins there. All in all, incredible once in a lifetime sights and views! Tour guides and accommodations - they were fantastic and felt like old family friends. For our short time in Lima, we had Diana show us around who was so energetic. She was patiently waiting for us when we first landed in lima as we landed late past midnight, and made sure we got to the hotel safely. She shared with us really interesting aspects of Peru culture. She also helped us when we came back to the airport to fly out to Cusco, walking us through the airport as far as she could go. The rest of the trip we had Romulo who was superb! There wasn't a question we had that he couldn't answer. From the beginning he made us feel very safe and was so patient through the whole trip with our questions, different walking paces, and other accommodations, etc. He also helped is navigate buying souvenirs at markets and was also great at taking pictures for us. In the last day in Cusco, he also helped us go to pharmacy and translate so that we could get some needed medication. And adjusted the schedule for us to address the health issues we had. The drivers were great and friendly as well! We also really enjoyed all our hotels and having our own private van take us around. The benefit of South Adventure Peru tours is that because its a personalized tour just for your own family, they can be so attentive to your family’s unique needs. For a few days, our youngest child had some sickness and could not hold down food or water. On the last train ride back from machu picchu, her stomach pains got so acute, we decided to get off one stop early and taxi to Cusco, which would be faster. Ruben helped talked to the taxi driver by phone, and directed us where to go to meet him. We checked my parents at the hotel in Cusco, and Ruben and his wife Tatiana personally drove us in their car to the 24 hour urgent care. Then stayed there waiting in the lobby until we left to go back to hotel at 2am!!! Then worked with us to change our plans the next day and even came back in morning to take us back to the medical center for the follow ups. All in all, when I say this company is personalized, caring, attentive, professional, competent, service-oriented, I’m not kidding! They love what they do, they love Peru, they deeply care for their customers, and are incredibly hard working. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone!"

"Wow! Where do I start… is it possible to leave more than a 5 star review?!? I have nothing but incredible things to say! To start (booking) - look no further if you are in need of a tour company for your Peru travel needs. This family owned company will coordinate everything you need and treat you like one of their own. When we were looking for a company we were overwhelmed with options, however, the outstanding reviews and speedy responses had us sold on South Adventure. I don’t think Ruben (owner) sleeps because he was responding to me day and night to ensure we had everything perfect! We did a private tour and had a few specific things we wanted to do and he coordinated every single detail. We came to Peru feeling nothing but confident about what was in store for our trip! The trip - when we arrived in Cusco Ruben and Tatiana met us at the train station and it was like we were old friends reuniting! They walked us through every detail we needed and made sure we started the trip great. The next day we met our tour guide Virgilio and he could not have been more perfect for us!!!! He was such an awesome tour guide, spoke great English and got along with us perfectly (we even had the same humor). We had such a blast with him and our Driver Alvaro was equally amazing. We felt so fortunate to have spent our time with them. Highly recommend Virgilio if you can request your guide!! We did a five day tour while in Cusco: sacred valley, Inca trail one day hike, Machu Picchu, rainbow mountain, Cusco city tour. While it was a busy few days the South Adventure team made it easy. We never felt overwhelmed or like we didn’t have time to rest, eat etc. Virgilio made sure that we took many breaks while hiking and helped ensure we felt good with the altitude. The guy even carried my backpack for a bit during the hike when I needed a break!! He was so knowledgeable on every detail it was like doing a tour with National Geographic. Throughout the trip Ruben continued to check in to ensure things were going smoothly. He and Tati even made sure we had a great meal one night when the train was delayed and after the restaurant we wanted to go to was closing (shoutout to Restaurant Organika…. Amazing!). When we wanted to adjust timing of tours to go earlier or to sleep later, they worked with us to adjust to whatever we wanted or needed. Look no further and book with South Adventure. You will not regret it!!!"
